Additional Information | *ONLINE Session Available* The IPC recertification program helps to ensure the continued competence of certificants as tools, processes, and technologies evolve. Prior to the conclusion of the certification term, certificants shall demonstrate they have successfully met the requirements of one of the renewal methods listed in this section. All certification renewals may only occur within 6 calendar months prior to the expiration of an existing certification. When a Certificant renews their certification within 6 months of the certification expiration date, the renewed certification will be valid for an additional 2 years from the expiration date of their currently held certification. To qualify for renewal through retesting, a CIT shall conduct at least one (1) IPC CIS course a year. The CIT must train a minimum of 5 CIS candidates during their twenty-four-month certification period. These courses shall be conducted prior to their certification renewal testing. In order to qualify for the renewal requirement, the courses taught by the CIT must include at least one optional module. CIT certifications that have expired will not be eligible to take the recertification course. The CIT may attend the full certification course after a period of 90 days from the date of expiration. Participants are advised to bring your own laptops for online assessment.

Without a solid foundation in the critical acceptance criteria for target, acceptable and non-conforming conditions for bare printed circuit boards, it’s easy to make a mistake and accept a defective product. But with IPC-A-600 training and certification, you’ll be able to promptly and accurately identify any anomalies associated with the boards and be empowered to make the right decisions in the course of your job.
This standard is most widely used among PCB manufacturers and assemblers to have a better understanding of board quality issues. The course will cover PCB classification and acceptance criteria, base material surface conditions, solder resist coverage and dielectric material criteria.
Upon completion of the recertification, a new two-year certification will be established.
