It was an informative afternoon centred around all things IPC as Wizlogix took to Ngee Ann Polytechnic on 3 September for a free talk. Titled Essential PCB Design and IPC Standards, the event saw close to 100 participants including staff, students and members of the public. Designed as an introduction to IPC, the talk was extremely useful and relevant to technical officers and teaching staff as well as students doing their final-year projects in PCB design.

Attendees had a great time learning from Ms Cheah Soo Lan, executive board member of the Designers Council in IPC HQ and appointed Master IPC Trainer for Design – Asia. Besides basic design concepts, participants were introduced to the various IPC standards that are essential in the industry. They also received tips and reference materials as well as a handy checklist for PCB design. At the end of the talk, attendees were given a pop quiz and invited to register for a free membership with the IPC Designer’s Council.

In all, it was an extremely fun and informative event for everyone! Special thanks to Mr Chia Yong Poo, Mr Wong Song Sing and Mr Ong Wai Sing from Ngee Ann Polytechnic for helping us make the talk a success.

It was a real treat for 20 of our valued customers when they were invited for a private session with DesignCon speaker and SI expert Lee Hee-Soo from Keysight Technologies. Organised by Wizlogix, the event saw Hee-Soo sharing his expertise on the Characterization and Optimization of Via Designs using Z-Parameters, DDR4 and Thermal Effects.

A recognised professional in the industry, Hee-Soo has more than 28 years of design and simulation experience in RF, microwave and high-speed designs. It’s little wonder then that many of the participants provided positive feedback on the event. Attendees commented that the topics were very relevant and useful, and the talk not only exposed them to new knowledge but also deepened their understanding.
