Newsletter | IPC’s new Policies and
Procedures
In partnership with Blackfox Training Institute to create awareness of IPC courses in
Southeast Asia, Wizlogix will be exhibiting in PSECE event on 16 – 18 November 2022 at
SMX Convention Centre in Manila, organized by SEIPI (Semiconductor and Electronics
Industries in Philippines, Foundation Inc).
Join us at Wizlogix Booth 91 for free consultation by our Master IPC Trainer (MIT) to share
overview and training programs of IPC CIT/CSE/CIS courses. Becoming certified allows
individuals to provide keen insight to your company on IPC standards and how they are
applied within manufacturing. The certification provides industry recognition not only to
yourself but also to your company.
Simply visit us and drop your namecard at the Booth to be one of the lucky winners to win
attractive Gift Vouchers. Lucky winners will be notified through emails by the end of
November.
J-STD-001 Soldering Kit will be displayed and with limited quantity out for you to grab at
only USD 43 (~2,520) per kit. To avoid disappointment, pre-order is available and could
arrange for collection at our Booth. J-STD-001 Soldering Kit is an industry-standard
soldering kit for operator and instructor certification. This soldering kit covers soldering
materials and processes for comprehensive practice, testing and certification.
Here are some of the key pointers you will need to take note of regarding the IPC’s new
policies and procedures.
From 1 Aug 2021, there will be no more certification extension. You may apply for
recertification 6 months prior to your certificate expiry date. Failure to be recertified before
the expiry date will result in expiration of certification, removal of the Certificant’s
credential, and a revocation of the rights afforded program certificants.
All candidates that let their certification expire may not apply for initial certification for a
period of 90 days after the date of expiration. After this 90-day period, these candidates
may take the exams and solder their workmanship sample to renew their certification.
Candidates are not required to retake a full course for recertification.
Updates on criteria for CIT Recertification
- A CIT may renew his or her certification through retesting. To qualify for renewal through
retesting, a CIT shall conduct at least one (1) IPC CIS course a year. The CIT must train a
minimum of 5 CIS candidates during their 2 years certification period. These courses shall
be conducted prior to their certification renewal testing. In order to qualify for the renewal
requirement, the courses taught by the CIT must include at least one optional module.
